OUR APPROACH
Solas is situated overlooking the village of Strathblane, with a striking vantage point of both, Dumgoyne and Ben Lomond. Constructed by a building company specialising in unique builds, we were invited to tender for this project by a local Architectural firm on behalf of their client.
They were seeking a company capable of undertaking the interior fit-out work throughout and pressed on the importance of fluency due to the number of individual areas within the house.
A minimalist contemporary theme is prominent within the building and focuses on straight lines and shadow gap detail. Our criteria were to provide various custom-manufactured furnishings, fixtures, decorative wall finishes, large pocket doors, feature staircase, and upper balustrading. The primary materials are a mix of both, solid Ash timber and veneer, stained to create a dark charcoal colour that contrasts with the natural light that cascades through the window walls and roof lights, as well as concealed LED lighting within the furnishings. Overall, the effect has now taken shape and is currently still in progress with completion set for June 2024.
